I studied at Dharwad and now after 7 years when I was back there I was really astonished to know that the status of women has not changed there in general. Eventhough Dharwadi women acquire top degrees and ranks they are very much backward as far as adaptibility is concerned. For each and every petty thing they say "nammanyavranna kelbekri" what does this show?
I mean to say along with + points of Dwd try to bring out some social change for good there at Dwd. Pls don't get hurt. I am writing out of ny experience there.

Hi all
I was born and broughtup in the best city in the whole world-DHARWAD.
I was student of K E Board's high school.I passed out of SDM in 1999.Since then i have not been visiting dharwad so often.Now i am in germany and this site brought back all the good ol' memories of dharwad like Madhu darshini, yemmikeri and ofcourse who can forget shashi pan shop where we friends used to spend hours together before we found our respective first jobs.

Congratulations on creating such a wonderful site. Found this site by chance. The information is brilliant and brings me fond memories of SDMCET and dharwad. The personalities list can be much bigger with more descriptions of them. I am dissapointed to find Prof G PURUSHOTHAMA'S name missing because of whom the name of SDMCET is now spread worldwide. Infact it is the Karnatak University, Agri College and SDMCET which has made Dharwad as famous as it is today. One must agree he was a very disciplined man whose contributions to the college were immense.I am sure very few people would disagree with that.
Any other suggestions from other people? I am sure u all agree. Keep up the good work

Keep up the good work folks! Its truly a wonderful experience to go through this web site. My mother is from Dharwad and thats how my association with Dharwad starts. My grand father was a famous advocate - Mr.B.G.Vaidya, and my mom's maternal house..well a mansion rather was near Kamanakatti..in old Dharwad. My Moms brothers K.B Vaidya, S.B Vaidya and M.B Vidya were very much happening in the 60s - 70s :). I was born in Nalini Hukkeri Hospital, opp to Basel Mission High School....Well I remember as a kid I often visited Kittur Channamma Park, Kelgeri, Saadankeri,KUD and KCD and of course Babu Singhs Pedhas and Bsappan Khannavali are still fresh in my memories. We as kids used to Visit Dharwad in the summers. Dharwad...wov what a place!!! The grenery, the weather, the warmth about the people, and the innumerable intellectuals Dharwad has produced...truly amazing...I love the place. Malmaddi, Saadankeri, Kamankatti, Saptapur, Hosayellapur, Tol Naka.........Iam sitting some corner of the world and writing this..i dont belive it....

Hello All,
It's very nice to see such a place for hearing about and talking to old friends and fellow Dharwadians. I was in Dharwad from 1970 till 1988. In Dharwad I completed my schooling (1st standard till 10th) at K.E.Boards High School, Malmaddi, I studied my PUC at Karnataka Science College, Dharwad and I studied my B.E. (Electronics and Communication) at S.D.M college of Engineering and Technology.
Dharwad remains one of the the most picturesque towns in the whole world the greenary, sunshine, the rain all bring out the vivid recollections of a marvellous city. Its a wonderful city for education and other extracurricular activities. I remember more of Karnataka University as my father was then the professor in Psychology department. We used to reside in Kalyannagar (near to the Taiwac quarters)
I am currently in Atlanta, Georgia, USA working for Tibco Software Inc. I was in Melbourne Australia for about 7 years. I worked in Tata Electronics, Bangalore for about 5 years before going to Melbourne for my higher studies in Computer Science.
I would be very happy to hear from any of my old friends, classmates, teachers, teammates, acquintances...It would definitely rekindle happy memories....

im from dharwad, i spent my child hood upto 8 years in dharwad, lived at saptapur & studied till 3rd at St>Joseph High School.
