hi everybody i am seema. its very bad to see that women in dharwad cannot go about on roads freely. ofcourse it is not as bad as bihar but surely i can see that the standards are very low. most college students or unemployed wanderers have comments to make and stare irritably at women. and someone being a little modern so to say or even a little nicely dressed will have loads of such things to hear. when are people going to be openminded. and if its only few who are doing it then why are the laws made and what are the police doing. atleast women need to do something about this.is this the culture of dharwad

Hi, seema what u have asked is a very basic q.. But don’t come 2 the conclution that its turning into bihar. Their r some cases. But I could recall a situation whre, a eve teaser was handede over 2 police by public. So, In the land of phedhas u can expect this also.

hi Seema,
Being a dharwadi i feel very shamed when i hear eve teasing in dwd, i feel it might be by mistake that some one teased u. Dharwad boys are too good to tease their fellow city mate. I hope that this will not happen in future.

Ravindra, You're kidding, aren't you?
In my opinion Dharwad (and Hubli) is an unsafe place for women to be going around in lonely areas, or after dark, without an escort. Eve teasing is common practice. There have been a couple of occassions where I have had to deal with it first hand, once with a friend and once by myself. We were able to avoid confrontation both the times. The second one was a really close call.
There have been other occassions where I have had to endure cheap-ass comments being passed by an "educated" acquaintance. The nutjob didn't know that he was talking about my relative!
Those are just some of the instances that I can remember offhand.
Eve teasers need to be whipped then and there. Until then, the problem will persist.

i am really sorry to hear this from u. i felt like dwd was/is and will be a safe place, but words suggest that it is nomore the same when i had left 4 years back. In the due course of time it has changed considerabely ur words suggest me. But any way things will surely change and it will be better in the future, in the mean while u talk to some authority and tell abt ur experience coz above all there is lone thing called LAW and all have to fallow that. u also take good care abt ur self. ihope next time u will message me and say that eve teasing has stopped and i will be the happy person atleast

i am vinayak, nice to send a comment to dharwadian, but it was really harsh comment whcih you gave about dharwad,
because of some few idiots , dharwad cant be blamed right, i stay in mycore, i have here few placed to be compared if i compare any district with dharwad , i feel my city the best, cool place nice peoples, But i dont know why , i am no where happy with your comment.

Dear Seema,
Eve teasing is not a new thing, and it is not only in Dharwad, it is every where. I think instead of going legally we should handle this problem morally. We are forgeting our moral values, our moral code of conduct, thats why this all thing is happening.
And it is not only men responsible for this to some extent women are also resposible. To tell you truth everyone, everyone including me is just looking for a chance to molest women.
soo Women should'nt give that chance. Even chance is given, why cant a woman give him a tight slap,shout on him loudly in Public, a little bit of curage can set right all the things.
We all today just say big things, women libration,women empowerment, women equality, we just say say and say and do nothing.
We need to change ourselves. Redefine our moral Code of Conduct.

I know it's been a while since this message was posted. However, I would like to comment on it. The eve teasing is prevalent in all most all parts of the world. So far there is female kind and the male kind it is going to be there.
And the law? It is going to go after the crimes are eliminated. Who wants that. I know eve teasing is bad. I have done it too in my college days. I was not a bad person. But, I thought it was fun. Mostly everyone is like that.Especially in the towns like Dharwad which is still pristine compared to other big cities that are already cosmopolatized. Women should develop a different attitude towards it. They can always reciprocate to that the way they want it. We all know that Dharwad is not a scary place. People are mild and scared unlike Mumbai or Bihar.
Anyways, that was just a thought. Dharwad guys! Please be considerate about your opposite sex. This is why we can't get Dharwad girls to take out on a date. Peace out Y'all.
