JSS College

It was formerly known as K.E. Board's college. Being founded in 1944 has a row of great teachers , principals and students. Now the college has on its campus the Institute of Engineering college , Economic research center, job oriented course etc.

Kittle College

It was the first educational institution established in 1871, which is the beginning of a new era that changed the history of Dharwad. The grate educationists, schools and lovers of Kannada namely Deputy Chenna Basappa , Rodda Shrinivas Rao, Siddappa Kambli. This teachers training college was founded in order to train Kannada teachers to teach Kannada teaching folks. A practicing primary school was also attached. A magazine, called 'Jeevana Shikshana' is published even today. The magazine has enjoyed the celebration of centenary so this institution has produced crores and crores of teachers to propagate Kannada language, Kannada culture and history

To promote education for women, this training college for women was established in 1896. The institution has an outstanding history. It has produced many great women educationists.

A five storied colorful age old towering building in the middle of Dharwad houses the Pathashala. Pathashala was founded in 1887 by the efforts of Shri Gurunath Rao Pathak. The institution was set up to revive the ancient language of Sanskrit. The students here study Vedas, Upanishads ,astrology and various other Sanskrit literature. The institution also has a valuable ancient books. The Pathashala is right next to Adi Shankaracharya temple.

This private institution is established to popularize Gandhian thought and teachings. Nearly 4000 books are there in the institution's library .

Its a college for physical training and was established in 1928.Students are awarded B.P Ed( Bachelor in Physical Education) after completion of the course.
